Growing up, festive drinks always meant something alcoholic, but more and more people I know prefer to skip the spirits. This sparkling cranberry mocktail was born out of that need: a drink that feels celebratory and special, made with clean, simple ingredients that I actually feel good serving. It has become a staple in our home because it delivers on flavor without any of the artificial colors, sweeteners, or additives you find in most store-bought mixers.

Since you all loved the apple cider mocktail, blueberry mocktail, grapefruit mocktail, and non-alcoholic mojito recipes I shared recently, I knew this cranberry lime mocktail needed to be next. It has the same crowd-pleasing fizzy finish with a bold, tangy-sweet flavor that works just as well for a quiet weeknight as it does for a table full of guests.

Whether you are hosting a holiday gathering, serving brunch to a crowd, or just want something refreshing that the whole table can enjoy, this non-alcoholic cranberry drink fits the moment beautifully. The bright, tangy flavor and fizzy finish make it feel like a treat, and once you know how easy it is to pull together, you will find yourself making it well beyond the holiday season.

Ingredient Notes

Labeled ingredients for a cranberry cocktail on a marble surface.
  • Cranberry juice: Choose a juice brand that offers 100% juice. They’re less sweet, provide a brighter color, and you can sweeten your drink to taste if needed.
  • Carbonated water: Either club soda or sparkling water works great.
  • Simple syrup: Use either store-bought or homemade. My sugar-free simple syrup uses only 3 ingredients!
  • Lime juice: I juice 1 to 2 fresh limes.
  • Fresh cranberries: Optional and just for garnish. Fresh or frozen both work. If using frozen, a quick rinse under cool water keeps the drink from getting cloudy.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Let’s make a cranberry mocktail, aka a cranberry lime spritzer! This recipe is as easy as mixing, adding carbonation, garnishing, and serving. Follow the instructions below, and you can’t go wrong.

  1. Add ice to your glasses.
  2. Combine the base liquid in a pitcher.
  3. Add the carbonated water directly before serving.
  4. Divide into the glasses and garnish with mint and cranberries.
  5. Serve fresh!

Substitutions

  • Lime juice: If you don’t have lime, fresh lemon juice works beautifully too.
  • Fresh mint leaves: Not a fan of mint? Try a sprig of rosemary for a more wintery feel.

Expert Tips

  • Chill everything first: Cold juice, syrup, and sparkling water help the bubbles last longer and keep your drink crisp without needing tons of ice.
  • Adjust sweetness: Cranberry juice can vary in tartness; start with less syrup and taste before adding more.
  • Dress it up for the season: Make it holiday-worthy by adding a sugar or salt rim, tying a small ribbon around the glass stem, or garnishing with a sprig of rosemary and a few floating cranberries for a “cranberry wreath” look.
  • Make it ahead of time. I mix the base in advance, keep it in the fridge, and add the sparkling water just before serving, once guests arrive, so the mix stays fizzy.

How  to Serve a Cranberry Mocktail

Serve your cranberry mocktail ice-cold in a clear glass to show off its stunning red color and sparkling bubbles. For pairings, this mocktail shines alongside savory appetizers like bacon-wrapped asparagus, cucumber roll-ups, and stuffed mushrooms

It also complements holiday mains such as turkey, stuffing, glazed ham, or cheese boards. For a sweet finish, try it with spiced desserts like apple pie, gingerbread cookies, or cinnamon coffee cake.
