Combine all dry powders in a glass or ceramic bowl. Remove clumps, if any.
4 tablespoons bentonite clay, 1 teaspoon powdered Monkfruit sweetener, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add coconut oil. Mix until paste forms.
4 tablespoons coconut oil
Add essential oil. Start with 5 drops, taste add more if desired.
2-4 drops cinnamon leaf essential oil
Slowly add hot water, 1/2 tablespoon at a time. Stir well between additions. Paste should be soft enough to scoop but not too soft that it runs off the toothbrush.
1-2 tablespoons hot water
Transfer toothpaste to glass jar with lid or plastic squeeze tub for storing.
When using bentonite clay, you want to avoid contact with metal bowl and spoons. This specific type of clay has the ability to bind to heavy metals and draw them out of our bodies. If it interacts with a metal bowl or something similar before, the effectiveness may decrease.
If kept air-tight, the toothpaste will last for a while, but not forever. Always use your best judgement.
