- 2 pounds ground beef or chicken sausage
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 12 large hard boiled eggs
Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175°C).
Line two small rimmed baking sheets with parchment
paper.
Combine beef (or chicken) and salt in a large bowl. Use your
hands to mix the ingredients together and form into 12 meatballs. Place 6 meatballs on each of the lined baking sheets and press flat.
2 pounds ground beef, 2 tablespoons salt
Place one boiled egg in the middle of each circle of meat and wrap the meat around the egg, leaving no gaps or holes.
12 large hard boiled eggs
Bake for 10-15 minutes. The top should look cooked. Flip over and continue baking for another 10 minutes. For a crispier shell, finish under the broiler for 5 minutes.
If you want to add your favorite herb like rosemary or garlic powder, combine up to 1 teaspoon per herb added with the meat before wrapping the egg.
Use soft or hard boiled eggs for this recipe. The softer the egg, the harder it is to peel. A small spoon can help get the shell off all in one go. Watch this tutorial to see how to peel a boiled egg with a spoon.
